Really, the key to keeping a secret in Hollywood is just don't talk about it, which is hard for a lot of people in this town to do, because everyone wants to be kind of citing their resume in every conversation and so on. And I'm married, so I don't know that first-hand, but I imagine it's the same level of stress and duplicity. You just have this weird secret part of your life that makes you happy, but you can't share it with anyone. Probably maybe writing and making this movie was the closest thing I've ever experienced in my life to having an affair, where I think you probably just have to compartmentalize everything. We were trying to do certain things to play fair. ![]() So hopefully nobody caught that, which is fine. ![]() And also, the woods was - The Woods Movie was the original shooting title of the Blair Witch project, back in '97 or whenever that was. There's also something hiding in the woods, so that they could then sort of be like, it's Blair Witch. With ours, it always a Blair Witch movie, and even our fake title in two different ways was trying to play fair a little bit, in that they would never just throw out the word in woods. How did you guys manage to keep this one under wraps? Simon Barrett: I think we were different from 10 Cloverfield Lane, too, in that I think that film was conceived later in the process than the Cloverfield universe kind of followup. IGN: Earlier this year, we had 10 Cloverfield Lane, another stealth sequel that nobody seemed to see coming, and then, boom, we get it again with Blair Witch.
